Q: What were kind of the core principles in your mind of Kirby's offense? Like what were the things that were sort of the bread and butter elements in your offense there?
A: Yeah, I think the crossers were obviously a huge staple in our offense, the option routes were really big and then the vertical pass game at times when we can protect with something that we'd like to get to. But, you know, the one thing I really appreciated with Kirby is he trusted me a lot and allowed me to get to different things and protection and change concepts, you know, fulfilled and allowed me to dictate what we wanted to try to get done at times when I saw you know, what we had talked about on tape.
Q: You had all those late-game heroics in 2021. Does that trust level come out in those gotta-have-it situations?
A: Yeah, and I think the older you get, the more you prove that you can handle and the more you show that you're … you're ready for your coordinators (couldn’t make out what he said) so the leash just keeps getting bigger and the more you learn, the more you mature, the better you're gonna play.
