Burden usage

Are we using Luther to his full potential? If we have to make up for our shortcomings in other areas such as QB, O Line and to a lesser extent RB, why are we not designing more plays to get our best player the ball? Aside from that I saw him in person and he was the best return man I’ve ever seen in HS. Why is he not returning kickoffs and every punt? KAD, while a solid CB, is not him on returns.

FOOTBALL Do Players Like HCED?

We’ve heard a ton from recruits about why they come to Mizzou, the family feeling and such but what I’ve not heard a lot of is the feeling in the program toward Drink.

There’s been a lot of smoke around dissatisfaction from the backups about the program and plenty of anecdotal stories about starters frustrations as well. We see WR’s shaking their heads, and such.

Is Drink popular with his players, any insight into how players actually feel about the head coach?

Drink and the portal

I gotta think that Drink and the position coaches are all over the players before December 5th to stay, right?

Of course, I’m sure there are a few they wouldn’t mind if they left.

Looking for Gameday Tips

Taking my son to his first game Saturday. The last time I went was before kids so it's been awhile. Summarize the gameday experience for me please. I've tried reading to gameday complaint threads but never made it very far. What are the food lockers and how do they work? I haven't been able to get a parking pass so where is public parking? Last time I parked on the side of Stadium Blvd and walked a mile. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

NEW STORY COMMENTARY: PROOF OF PROGRESS WILL HAVE TO WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR

I'll be honest, I don't even know if this column makes any sense. Because I don't know what I think about this team. Or this program.

FOOTBALL D.C. BLAKE BAKER'S PRESSER HEADING INTO WEEK 13

Baker thinks the team did well but could've played better. He thanks the fans for braving the cold.

Baker said that all the young guys show flashes and also showed flashes of why they're not ready for a full-time gig. He didn't have a standout from the young guys.

He called KJ Jefferson an incredible talent who can make throws, break tackles when he leaves the pocket, and called him a complete quarterback.

He said it starts with him and then it goes to Raheim "Rocket" Sanders to worry about. He said Sanders is really patient, stays low and behind his blockers. He thinks the WRs are nice and that the TE is a mismatch problem for a lot of defenses.

Baker said that there are "no bars on the window, no locks on the door" for players who want to leave. He said that he obviously wants players to stay, but that this is the beauty of the 85 for 85.

He said he knows there are a number of players who have been contacted by other places.

Baker said that Jalani Williams hasn't got the reps he wanted but he works like he's a starter. He said that some of the young guys act like their time isn't coming, so they don't prepare like it. He said he hopes their poor play opened their eyes.

DE Tyrone Hopper is out with a shoulder this Friday.

Next up is Martez Manuel.

There's a big difference between 5-7 and 6-6 (obviously) but he said they are worried just about this game.

Manuel said that this rivalry means a lot to him (he previously said that Kentucky's rivalry is the bigger and better rivalry).

He said for playing KJ and Sanders they will have to tackle and do the fundamentals.

He said it wasn't the cleanest game last week even though the scoreboard said something different.

Martez said he saw a lot of good stuff from a lot of young guys and he specifically said Daylan's pick-six and that Dreyden played well.

Martez said he's blessed for his college experience and the win they got last week.

He said it hasn't hit him yet and that this is his last home game. He said the last few games he's been thinking about those things and it has shown in practice (basically he insinuated using all his energy in practice and that he should save it all for the game).

Next up is Chad Bailey.

Chad said that the Battle Line trophy is the biggest he's ever seen. He said not having it gives them more to work for.

He said he didn't think he did what he needed to do to leave. He missed a couple of games and owes it to himself and the university to give it one more go around.

He said they have to stop the run, clog the holes and penetrate.

He said the battle line trophy is what they're playing for and that bowl eligibility is extra.
