In anticipation of the upcoming CFB season and lively discussion about how different (hopefully improved) the 2016 Tiger Offense will be, I’d like to offer a PowerMizzou Prediction Contest.

While Win/Loss is the true measure of a team, and “Defense wins championships”, you gotta score points. So for the 2016 Tigers, Predict the Team’s Scoring Average/Points per Game (PPG) FOR THE SEASON, carried to the 10ths position.
  • For example, if you believe the Tigers will score 42 PPG on the Season, then list 42.0 as your prediction. A response of 42 will not be accepted.
Winner will be closet to actual Scoring Offense/PPG at end of season. If needed, Tiebreaker will be Team Rushing Yards per Game (Ru YPG), also carried to the 10ths position. Tigers ran for 115.4 YPG last season.
  1. First Place – 3 Free Months of PowerMizzou
  2. Second Place – 2 Free Months of PowerMizzou
  3. Third Place – 1 Free Month of PowerMizzou
Total Team Scoring/PPG covers all regular season games played, including FBS and FCS opponents. Winner to be determined after last regular season game is played and will be based on NCAA stats (http://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/2016/team/27 ). Also, you cannot edit your post; doing so will disqualify your entry and all entries must be in before first Tiger game/kickoff.

Some notable CFB Avg Scoring from last year (2015)…
#1 – Baylor, 48.1 PPG
#4 – Oklahoma, 43.5 (without OCJH)
#30 – Alabama, 35.1 (Nat’l Champs)
#64 – Utah State, 29.0 (interestingly with OCJH & middle of pack in Scoring)
#126 – MIZZOU, 13.6
#127 – Kent State, 13.1 (last place)

With that said, here’s my prediction:
Season Avg PPG = 24.3
Season Avg Rush YPG = 147.2
