I have calmed down from yesterday and I guess from reading Gabe’s take on things the pulse of the program is stronger and headed in a good direction.. That said what are the expectations for the team next year. Here is what I think.
1. Team will start slow, Holmgrens move could impact West Virginia, so we could win that game, but if pattern holds.. we won’t be ready, and will be in for a fight.
2. There will be 2 inexplicable losses. Don’t know to who or how, but head scratchers. Could be 3, but should be down, if pattern holds.
3. We will lose to Georgia.
So I predict 8 wins 4 losses. I am basing this on, the general progress of the program. At some point we have to be competitive with UGA, but it won’t be next year. Losses, could be WVU, Kentucky, UGA and USC. Bowl game will be a loss, final record 8-5 .
Biggest problem is going to be butts in seats, win some games early and big, they will come back, but yesterday hurt, and it will show in attendance early in the season unless, there is a narrative to replace that.. will see. Odom has some contractual time to work, but has to show progress and build expectations, to date he has tried to avoid over promising and under delivery. Time to step up and step out.
