I know this has been discussed a bit, but I wanted to break down just how favorable Mizzou's schedule appears to be in 2019.
@Wyoming: Road test against a beatable opponent to start. Learn you can win on the road right off the bat
West Virginia: Great home test against a solid program in Week 2. WVU loses a lot of offense, but have a quality heir-apparent in Allison. This is the type of opponent Mizzou fans have asked for in Non-conference. With the unveiling of the SEZ, I expect Faurot full and rocking in what hopefully is a prime time matchup
SEMO: Exhibition against a quality FCS opponent before your first conference test.
South Carolina: Quality, but beatable opponent to start the SEC schedule. USCe will be coming off an Alabama thumping and may still be licking their wounds.
BYE
Troy: Quality group of five program.
Ole Miss: Beatable conference opponent for Homecoming
@Vandy: You can't ask for a much easier start to you conference road schedule. Especially when it is this late in the season.
@Kentucky: Extreme revenge factor after two straight agonizing losses to Kentucky. Kentucky loses a ton on both sides of the ball. They also have to travel to Georgia the week before this game.
BYE: Mizzou prepares for Georgia while Georgia has to play a rivalry game against Florida.
@Georgia: Your toughest test of the year to kick off November, where we know Odom thrives.
Florida: Can Florida get up to play on what you hope is a cold and damp November day?
Tennessee: Can Tennessee get up to play on what you hope is a cold and damp November day?
@Arkansas: LOL
I don't think we are going to see a more favorable schedule in the SEC for a long time. Mizzou gets arguably the two worst teams in the West. Their toughest tests will come under favorable circumstances.
This is why landing a quality QB like Bryant would be massive for this program. You likely start the year in the Top 25 and have ample opportunity to rise quickly if you take care of business in the first half of the season. Then, you hope the momentum snowballs similar to 2013 during a challenging back half of the schedule.
