Imahri's father, Jimmy Wooten, was previously an assistant coach at Eastern Michigan while Matt Cline was also on staff there. Imahri was the third-leading scorer for City Rocks (NY) on the EYBL circuit, helping the team go 11-4 in the regular season, finishing in third place in their conference.
