Getting back to Missouri on Wednesday, Pete Eglitis stood out. Joined by his quarterback at Columbus (Ohio) Watterson, Drew Bellisari, Eglitis was a part of two recruiting groups on campus.

That luxury provided Eglitis more one-on-one time with Tigers staffers as well as a closer look at practice without many other recruits and families flooding the sidelines.

"It was a little chilly in the morning, but once the sun came up, it felt amazing," Eglitis said. "Practice, it was really neat, seeing coach (Eli Drinkwitz) on the mic on the field, and just the way they ran, it was very professional."

After practice, Eglitis sat down with assistant offensive line coach Jack Abercrombie to go over Missouri's film. Eglitis, a three-star offensive tackle in the 2026 class, was familiar with what Abercrombie showed him, running a wide-zone offense at Watterson.

"They have an inside-run period, which we also have," Eglitis said, "and some of the same calls as an O-line group."

Abercrombie and pass game specialist Brendan Boylan took Bellisari and Eglitis out to lunch at Bud's Classic BBQ in downtown Columbia during the visit. Boylan, an Ohio recruiter for Missouri, has been active in the recruitment of Eglitis.

"I definitely love Ohio," Eglitis said in February, "so as much as I get it wherever I go is going to be great, having a coach from Ohio is going to be a little taste of home,"

Eglitis' next trip back to Missouri might come as an official visit, as he spoke with the Tigers about setting up a date in the near future. Eglitis will make unofficial visits into April before setting his official visit schedule for late spring and summer.
