Derham Cato has put more focus into recruiting tight ends at Missouri.
Since Cato took over the coaching duties this past season, recruits have raved about him, and during his in-home visits in late April, he received another positive review from Class of 2026 three-star Isaac Jensen.
"It was just checking up and just conversations, not really even about football, and just building a relationship," Jensen said. "(My relatives) all like him a lot. My parents say he's super easy to talk to, and they both like the way coaches."
The No. 2 recruit in Nebraska behind Omaha (Neb.) Millard South teammate Landen Von Seggern, Jensen emerged more as a priority tight end target for the Tigers after his Nov. 2 visit for the Oklahoma game.
Cato stopped by Millard South to see Jensen run routes as well. Former Missouri target Jett Thomalla, Jensen's best friend since middle school, threw passes to the now fully healthy tight end, who suffered a foot injury his junior season.
"Them committing to (Iowa State), it really doesn't change anything for me," Jensen said of his teammates Thomalla and Amarion Jackson. "Obviously, that would be pretty cool if the three of us went there and played college football together, but I'm just going to do what's best for me and what's going to benefit me the most. ... It's still not pushing me that way or pulling me that way."
Jensen checked off his fourth trip to Missouri in over a year at Junior Day in March. He'll now be back on campus for his official visit June 6-8, when the Tigers also plan to host four-star tight end Camden Jensen.
Cato also made in-home visits to see Camden, Evan Jacobson and Kevin Sullivan. While confirming he will officially visit Missouri, Jacobson has yet to publicly announce a date. Sullivan, an in-state product, will close out his official visit schedule June 20-22 at Missouri.
The Tigers currently plan to sign one tight end in the 2026 class, a source told MizzouToday, but that's a fluid situation that could change, depending on the future of the position already on the roster. Relatedly, Missouri feels comfortable with all four options.
