Mizzou Athletics Receives $3.1 Million Estate Gift
Confidential Donor to Benefit Softball Program and Tiger Scholarship Fund
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is pleased to announce that it has received a major estate gift that will benefit its softball program as well as the Tiger Scholarship Fund. The confidential donor has made a $3.1 million planned estate gift, with the funds to be split evenly between softball and the TSF.
The gift will be directed to the John and Dolly Kadlec Society, which was established in 2009 as a planned giving program designed to recognize and honor supporters who are committed to ensuring the long-term success of Mizzou Athletics. This avenue of planned giving includes philanthropic gifts through wills, bequests, trusts, annuities, life insurance and real estate.
“We are very grateful to receive such generous gift,” said Director of Athletics Jim Sterk. “There are numerous ways our supporters can make a lasting impact, and planned giving is a very important aspect of giving for our future,” he said.
This latest gift continues a recent theme that has seen numerous donors step up with seven-figure gifts to support Mizzou Athletics and its mission to provide its student-athletes with the resources needed for a world-class experience that prepares them to become champions for life. Previously announced gifts include some $20 million combined in the last two months that will go toward the building of a new football facility located on the south end of Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field.
