I tried to put this out of my mind last night but it's still bugging me this morning. Had to check the official play-by-play to be sure I remembered it correctly.
Late in the third quarter, we made another boneheaded third down call. The drive started with 2:06 left in the quarter and lasted 1:56
First down at the 20, incomplete pass, holding on Castillo.
First and 20 at the 10: Crockett runs 10 yards to get back to the original line of scrimmage
Second and 10 at the 20: Lock pass to Badie complete for 9 yards
Third and 1 at the 29: (this is the one that ticked me off). We take absolutely no time off the clock and run a quick handoff to to Badie who is stopped for no gain. I get the "we were rolling, had them on their heels, don't give them time to adjust" argument. Those two plays were our longest gains of the second half. Why the quick snap? Why not make sure you get the blockers in you need to get that one yard?
I think that's when I fell off the fence and into the dark side of the Odom/Dooley conversation.
