1. Pats won, gross. I don't care for the RAMS necessarily, but I really wanted Pat's to lose. The SB MVP was suspended for PEDs this year. Worst super bowl to watch. I understand that many like good defense, but there were many missed throws, off target, etc. It was terrible to watch. I could have done with out that crappy game. I'm not sure what is worse, the game, or the commercials. Honestly, I didn't notice many. The NFL one was the best. I like the Game of Thrones one, but that was probably because it was more of a break from the mundane. I will be curious to see what Gronk does, if he retires. Also, I follow Barstool sports, they are pretty funny on twitter, but the whole crash the superbowl to get arrested bit was really terrible and was another tune out. Honestly, I couldn't wait for the superbowl to be over. Kind of surprising an offensive player won MVP when they only scored 13 points.
2. Interesting legal matter involving Covington School kids. So they have a lawyer who sent demand letters to basically everyone in media and to every catholic diocese the tweeted, did a report, or made a public statement admonishing the kids in the video. This was the first search result to describe the letters. I am interested to watch this bear out if there are legal ramifications. Will celebs, media, politicians be held accountable for tweets? It is an interesting legal question. I am not sure how I bear out on this. Journalists should have a higher level of requirement to refrain from reporting stories based on viral cut videos without researching the facts, that seems like gross negligence. They used to refrain from doing a story on it until there was a lot of research done first. Now because of the battle to be first, they just tweet out a link with a story regurgitating some line. I think there should be some level of accountability here, but I am not sure how far that should go.
3. Had to coach 6 and 7 year old soccer practice this past weekend. UGH. It is brutal to keep their attention. I get why 1st grade teachers prefer to teach girls at those ages. The girls seem to pay attention more. It will be interesting to see how the season pans out. In the past, this team was terrible, but hopefully they can win some. It can be mentally exhausting though trying to coach them and get them to be quiet for a min while I introduce new drills. Should I bribe them? make them run? What's the secret?
4. WTF is with the weather. It's supposed to be damn near 80 here in DFW today. I have agreed that there is evidence of global warming and I actually think the polar vortex helps that assumption. The fact that it was colder in Minny than it was at North Pole for a day. The fact that perma frost has been melting. I am always trying to think of ways to make money off of people not believing in climate change. Can I buy property that might be beach front in 30 years? Can I buy land in the north that may be farmland in 15 years? Should I short some real estate companies that are over leveraged on the coasts?
5. Cryptos (I am right on this @VP). What limits free trade? Governments. How do they limit it? 2 things. 1. Currency. 2. Banks. What does Crypto eliminate? Govt currency and banks. How do I think crypto will play out? Millenials. I think Millenials will vote to increase socialist programs in the US and other developed countries. The richers will just go to cryptos.
