In the past Ive been dismissed for suggesting the right's pro israel stance is rooted in antisemitism. The right likes to suggest criticizing Israel is synonymous w antisemitism. That Trump and the MAGA group echo these sentiments frequently.

My intention is to have a good faith discussion here that hopefully last more than half a page . I think this interview by Trump really distills the issue here

(Ignore tapper's pearl clutching/jaw dropping additions. Just using this tweet as quotes for what was said if you dont want to listen.

The right's protection of Israel has never had any concern for jewish people. It's always been based around Evangelicals that believe the jews must rebuild the temple in jerusalem for the rapture to come. When that happens, the Evangelicals will be saved, and the jews will die. It's a pretty anti semetic prophecy that has nothing to do w the well being of anyone but the Evangelicals.

Trump goes on to make anti semetic claims that the jews control our government, the media, that american jews are disloyal (while at the same time he just scolded them for not being loyal to israel. Pick a lane dude)

When you infer that criticisms of Israel are antisemetic. When you call members of the squad or anyone else antisemetic for criticizing the Israeli government, you are playing into these same anti semitic tropes. Perhaps not intentionally but it's what's happening.

Hope this helps some here better understand the issue. Hope you all have a wonder sabbath and I look forward to the well mannered and reasonable discourse im sure will follow!
