It is amazing how much the fate of this football team has turned. Odom’s job has been safe for a couple of weeks now so I am not talking about saving his job. But just go back to the Arkansas game. J’mon who had dropped five of the easiest passes anyone could ever drop. Then he goes into the end zone, some would say pushes off, and makes maybe the best catch of his life for a touchdown to put Mizzou ahead and allow them to control the clock for a last second (or 9 second win). So what one win isn’t that big of a deal they would likely be going to the same bowl game anyway. But I think it is. If Mizzou loses the game the narrative is Odom did a heck of a job saving his job and getting the team to .500. Instead the narrative is Mizzou is one of if not the hottest team in the country. Half of the confrence is looking for or hired a new coach. Sending top notch recruits looking for a new home. Now from going from being part of the coaching search to stealing kids away from other higher profile schools. TBJ everyone assumed was on his way to play in Sunday’s next year. But he wants to play and be part of something special here. I can’t remember the last time we had this kind of momentum. He has so many top flight visitors coming and hopefully they jump on board. This would cap a magical in season turnaround and hopefully set coach Odom up for the future.
