I think this article does a good job of summing up why DRF is no longer here. It’s very clear what the priorities of Choi and the BOC are. Cut expenses and maximize revenues. How does that happen? Stop wasting resources on your loss leaders and pour more money into your revenue generating products. It seemed like DRF was more interested in taking a holistic approach when it comes to AD expenses.
This is great news if all you care about are Mizzou Football and to a lesser extent men’s basketball. However, I think this spells doom for the Olympic Sports at Mizzou. Hopefully, with time, the revenues generated from this philosophy allow Mizzou to spread the wealth. But it’s pretty clear the purse strings are about to be tightened if your name isn’t Eli Drinkwitz or Dennis Gates.
