Just listening to their weekend wrap up and they brought up a good point.
They mentioned Mizzou looked like a team playing their first game of the season.
And in a sense they were. They rotated guys in and out, rested guys and let guys who likely won’t play again this season get plenty of run the first two weeks.
This was the first week Mizzou played a full game with their guys they are going to battle with. And in large part it looked like it. Flags, missed assignments, timing off on deep routes. That’s rustiness.
But, it was still a game they were never in any real danger of losing in the second half. And that’s talent.
They ended their discussion saying they still believe Mizzou is a top 10 team at their peak. But they are going to have to get that sloppiness cleaned up to achieve that. I’d agree with that assessment.
