growning up, I remember being taught about USSR Communist propaganda, and how those damn commie leaders lied to their people about how their country was governed. Those bastards deceived their citizens, and kept the truth from them. They ran sham elections, but their government leaders would tell them through their controlled media that their elections were fair.

But, I was told the USA did a nobel thing. We invested in a radio broadcast capability to blast the truth into the USSR, to tell their people about the lies of their leaders and how their elections were rigged. Huddled Russian masses would listen for the truth from their short wave radios from the USA! We were giving them the power of knowledge in hopes that they would push back against their corrupt leaders.

I grew up believing that it was nobel for a foreign country to educate the citizens when their leaders were lying to them and elections were rigged.

Then I went back to the Atari
