I'll focus on Harsin as I have connections to the Boise area. Coach Peterson (former coach) and I are close personal friends, and by that, I mean I saw him across the street once in an Idaho vacation town. I also actually met Hawkins after he was fired by Colorado. But I don't claim friendship to failed coaches (sorry Barry).

I hadn't realized Boise is still alive for the NY6, but they very much are. This is the like the CFP for the Group of 6 and its a VERY BIG DEAL. Despite Harsin finishing in the CFP ranking (excludes bowls) in 3 of the last 5 years (and mostly likely again this year, making 4/6), the local fans just are not sold on him. I stated Harsin is a solid double hire. I may be sliding that to more of a legged out triple. I maintain he is not a home run hire. But the more I look at him, the more unreasonable I think the Boise fans are. No shot at them, most fanbases are. Anywho, on the NY6...

If Harsin goes to the NY6, does that affect Boise fans attitude toward him? Does it encourage a raise and bigger budget for the program (coaches, recruiting, etc.)? Would he leave a Boise program that he has taken to the pinnacle for the 2nd time and this time NO ONE can give the credit to Coach Pete? I think its a major factor.

This is last week's CFP rankings:

18 Memphis (11-1) - Beat Cincy 34-24; Plays Cincy
19 Cincy (10-2) - Lost to Memphis 34-24; Plays Memphis
20 Boise State (11-1) - Beat CSU 31-24; Plays Hawaii (9-4)

CFP is obviously not out yet for this week. BUT... The AP poll dropped Cincy 3 spots, behind BSU. So the theory is:

BSU beats Hawaii AND
Cincy beats Memphis
- BSU gets a Championship and has only 1 loss, gets the NY6 spot ahead of Champion Cincy with 2 losses. Group of 5 team's final CFP rankings has always been in order of losses, but teams separated by 1 loss has only occurred 4 times (twice in 2015, 2017, 2018).

NY6 History (group of 5 spot):
2014: Boise State (11-2) only ranked Gof5 team
2015: Houston (12-1) selected over Navy (9-2) and Temple (10-3)
2016: W Mich (13-0) selected over Temple (10-3) and Navy (9-3)
2017: UCF (12-0) selected over Memphis (10-2) and Boise (10-3)
2018: UCF (12-0) selected over Fresno (11-2) and Boise (10-3)

Perhaps us MIZZOU fans need to be Memphis Tiger fans this weekend. As it would help with Harsin's chance of being willing to depart Boise and the Boise AD and fans willingness to let him walk.
