Four-star Lawrence (KS) defensive end Amani Bledsoe made his first official visit last weekend, as the highly-touted prospect made the trip to Eugene to see head coach Mark Helfrich's Oregon program. After the all-state defender postponed his visit to UCLA to December, I talked with his family about his remaining official visits. As of the start of October, here's Amani's itinerary for the fall:
October 10: Missouri
October 24: Oklahoma
October 31: North Carolina State
December 11: UCLA
Though Kansas is the only school to make Bledsoe's Top 6 not scheduled for an official visit, I can tell you the Jayhawks are very much in the race for Bledsoe. Even with the Jayhawks struggled under first-year coach David Beaty, the hometown school is still a factor.
I've probably talked to Amani more than any other reporter, and I've built a good relationship with he and his mom. He's played this very close to the vest, and I think he's going to continue to be very methodical as he goes about narrowing his list from six to three before making his announcement in January. That said, the Tigers are in it. I think he stays close, and that he likely chooses between the Tigers, Oklahoma, and KU.
