An Explanation Needed

I went to the WKU game on Saturday and while I dislike being critical of the student athlete in general I am searching for an explanation. How in the heck does CVL log 30 or more minutes a game? Saturday he didn't get into the scoring table until late in the second half.I fail to be impressed with his shooting, defense or ball handling. Why does Coach KA play him?
