virtually worthless. Like many TV announcers of basketball games, they were more interested in small talk than keeping the watcher up to date on the action. They virtually never called the action (who scored, how many points they had, who made the assist, who fouled, how many fouls on the player, etc.). There are exceptions and the better announcers are really good at filling in the information that the viewer is most likely to miss just watching the video (who fouled, how many fouls, who scored, how many points, etc. This is info that anyone in the arena would hear or have access to (via announcer or the scoreboard...which frequently has on court players points and fouls). Last night, I had to just mute the TV and go to the excellent radio call by Mike and Chris. It wasn't sinked, but still very enjoyable. And, at least I knew who did what... in almost real time.
