The other day a friend of mine were talking about how flat the announcers for many of ESPN's college games seemed to be. They told us nothing more than what we could see on the screen and the in game insights were only coming from the on field person.
That's when he mentioned that the announcers for many ESPN College Games were not at the stadium but back in the studio so ESPN could save costs. Only the on-field commentator was at the game, all "pre-game interviews" were done over the phone or by stringers, and the announcers were provided a few angels.
I am sure this is not true of the big game of the day... but does anyone know if that is true of the other games? Were the ESPN/SEC announcers actually in the boot at the game Saturday? It would explain a lot about what I have been seeing and hearing.
Peace,
