With 37 seconds left, Mizzou gets first down and the clock stops. Before the ball is placed on the field and set for play (and really before the chain crew is set), the ref restarts the clock. In fact, the ball is not placed until there are 32 seconds on the now running clock.
I guess I've always assumed the clock restarts after the first down when the ball is placed for play. Is that the official trigger? Or, is there some other trigger?
