I understand the penalties are stayed pending a decision on the appeal. So if no decision comes down prior to this bowl season, we're eligible for the postseason.
My question is, when is that cutoff for 2019? Is it following the last regular season game? Is it following the conference championships? Is it some other date?
I think the worst thing that could happen for us is this spill into another season. They have to give us 7-days notice of the announcement. If we don't have that yet, which Gabe has said there's no update, that puts us into next week at the earliest, which is the final week of the 2019 season.
At this point it appears at least possible we won't have a decision that affects 2019.
