Mizzou won this game. If this season's a disaster, it won't be because of today. It's going to be judged on what's still to come.
The defense looked awful beyond belief today; no one will argue otherwise.
BUT... things can change. After watching last year's opener, fans would've been right to think the offense would continue to be terrible; it obviously wasn't the downfall of the 2016 Tigers.
Ultimately, Mizzou walked away from the field today with a victory, so the sky's not falling yet. I understand why people are concerned, but the only true, irreversible outcome of a game like this is a loss, and thankfully that was avoided.
So sit back, enjoy the long weekend, and hope the Tigers are ready for SC next week.
