"Tremendous challenge a few short days away in Baton Rouge."

Made progress every week "and I would anticipate seeing the same thing this week. We'll be better Saturday night than we were the previous weeks."

Says they'll dissect everything LSU has done through four games and prepare for that. Always making in-game adjustments.

Odom was in meetings when he found out about Miles. "I hate it for Les. He's been a guy I've looked up to for a number of years." "He's changed and affected so many lives of young men--thousands of them--over his career." "I was surprised. This business is crazy...He's gonna be in a good spot. He's a really good coach. He made college football better in my opinion."

"I don't remember how many years Les has been there, but hopefully in however many years I'm still standing up here doing a press conference on Monday."

Couple of his assistants have been to Death Valley. "One of the greatest environments in college football...you talk about student-athlete experiences, you want them to have a great experience. This will be one they'll remember."

"If you're a competitor, it's an unbelievable experience...I don't know if it gets any better. It's awesome. We look forward to it."

On Witter: Good football IQ, good knowledge of the system, can make checks and adjustments at the line of scrimmage. "He's doing a lot of really good things and I think we've got a pretty good punch with Damarea coming in there and running as well."

On Fournette: "He's really good. That's an understatement...If you said he was 260, I'd say yeah, he kind of looks it." Tremendous speed, great pad level, if they block the corner he's gone. "He runs angry...Presents a great opportunity for our defense to line up and see what we can do."

Says he's a little different than Chubb. Says Fournette does a good job of avoiding big hits. Says the fullback makes the run game go along with the offensive line.

Orgeron very well respected in the business, Odom knows Dave Aranda, "they'll do a great job on leading their team. They know the ins and outs on what will work for them. I'm sure they will be ready to go for Saturday night."

Odom said Mizzou spent some time in the offseason looking at LSU. "I would anticipate we'll get a heavy dose of No. 7"

Bailey and Ross both practiced last night. Biggest question mark is Logan Cheadle. He was very limited last night. Justin Smith aggravated a knee injury from a couple weeks ago. Had a scope last week. Should practice WED or THUR. Abeln and Wingo both practiced, should play.

On Heupel: "He's an aggressive competitor and that tends usually to get passed down to your players. He's done that...He likes to win, he likes to work. I think he's done a great job along with that side of the ball"

Chris Black at punt returner: Penton and Mason both have taken reps in practice as well. Will go out tomorrow and reassess where it's at. Says Black and JJ give them a chance to do something on every punt. Wanted to get Black in and get some reps on Saturday.

Played Markell Utsey, "I think he's going to end up helping us down the stretch. That's why we ended up activating him."

Says the safeties can all play both positions, it depends on the play call which guy is in which spot. Says they don't really have a traditional "free safety/strong safety" setup.

Nate Strong hurt his ankle last Thursday, Odom says he was making quick progress. Should be close to ready this week. "He was definitely getting into the mix."

On the fake punt: DSU had brought all out pressure eight times in nine punts "and I wanted to try to loosen them up a little bit...Felt the timing was right, the look was right." Says they have two or three punts in the game plan every week.

Doesn't know Ed Orgeron very well, knows of him through recruiting. "He's really good at what he does. I'm sure he'll have his team ready to play."

Said the targeting call against Ronnell Perkins was good. "I'm glad both kids were not injured seriously. It's not what we want to do."
