Excited to be coming off a win. Played really well at times on both sides of the ball. Showed some mental toughness and did some things they hadn't been able to do earlier in the year.
Credited AJ Logan for pressure on Joey Burkett's interception.
"It wasn't clean all the time but it was better than we've been."
Been watching film on Tennessee for a couple days now. They score a lot and are playing very well.
On the kickers: McCann has done a really good job on kickoffs and he'll continue doing that. Every kicker on the roster will be evaluated during the week in practice.
Said he isn't at the point of just going for two. Said the kickers were good in practice last week and "I was as surprised as anybody that we missed two extra points."
Said "the mental aspect" is a part of the struggles
Said Bailey and Jake Hurrell probably won't practice tomorrow. Hurrell has a concussion. There has been some talk that Drew Lock is banged up, but when asked if he had any doubts that Drew would play, Odom said absolutely not.
On the youth of the offense and building to next year: Tried to not think about next season. "If you look long term, it's exciting that these guys will be year two in the system that they haven't known...I think it can only lend to be a fairly promising development."
On J'Mon: Preparation, approach to practice has been better. He's going to be a marked guy going into games. Got to play within the system and the scheme and not give up early. Maturity of battling through that is something he's had to work on.
On Marcell Frazier: Has played more snaps, which has helped production. Has helped on third down in the pass rush.
On the WR rotation: Took a little longer than they'd have liked to ID the top guys (Mason, Moore, Johnson the clear top three now). Still have guys that he tells they have to be ready all the time cause they're a play away especially in this offense. Mentioned Hall, Wingo and Laurent specifically.
Expected running game to be more by committee, but Crockett has stepped forward and taken charge. Again praises Glen Elarbee and the job he's done.
Says Josh Dobbs is a complete player, playing as well as anyone. Says Tennessee "ran as determined as a group of running backs and quarterbacks as I've ever seen."
Odom says he's followed Bob Shoop's career and he's done a great job at Tennessee. Says Derek Barnett is "all over the place, he's disruptive."
That's it, players up next.
