I'll pass along info here

Appreciate the fans that were there today sticking with us. "We're not playing very good football. I look in the mirror and I've got to find a way to get it fixed."

"Discouraged? Absolutely."

"I'm going to lead this program into the direction of winning on a consistent basis. I know what it's going to take and I feel very very strongly that it's going to happen."

Didn't tackle well. "Defense, I've got to figure that out. That's maybe the single most frustrating thing right now is we're not very good tacklers." Haven't tackled well in over three weeks. Going to change some things in practice.

Offense: Seeing explosive plays, not doing it consistently enough. "We've got to be better. I've got to be better. Really frustrated that I'm standing here saying the same thing."

"Our locker room's going to be just fine."

On calling the defense: Odom called them. "I think that was, I don't know, for us defensively, I think us working together as a defensive staff, I really like those guys I think they're all really good at what they do."

Says he will continue to call plays today. Stresses it's still a full staff effort as far as game planning and such. Says he asks for feedback and opinions. "That's on me. I'm calling it."

Says when he took the job he knew they had a long way to go. "There's a lot of really good things going on inside these walls. Results aren't coming."

Asked him about questioning effort. He said he has different opinion on tackling. Said some is fundamental, some is effort, toughness and desire. "I wouldn't question it." Says if you look at each play you can find things that didn't go the way you wanted them to. Will evaluate video when he looks at it on film.

Cale Garrett played with a cast on his wrist.

Mental toughness on being able to move on from adversity not there yet.

Offensively: Don't know yet. Haven't talked to Heupel, hasn't looked at the tape. "Most of the day spent over defensively."

Asked him what he can count on with this team: I know they're going to show up and they're going to give me great effort. Hungry to win. They're hurt, but been through a lot together, we know that we're going to stay the course and to a man we know that we're going to be better.

Said Terez Hall hurt his ankle again this week.

On Nate Howard: Had a good couple weeks in practice. Should give them a pass rush off the edge.

Had discussed redshirting Howard, he said he wanted to play if he could do anything to help the team.

On run defense: "I thought I had a plan and they were still successful doing it."

On taking over defensive play calling: "Take friends out of it. He's a very close friend...We sat down and visited about what we thought would be beneficial to us working together moving forward...He's a tremendous coach. As the head coach, I wanted to make that call."

Said Cross had a lot of influence on the defense and input on calls.

Odom says Lock is a much better player than he was this time last year. "Is that good enough? No. Because we're not there yet."
