Mizzou Baseball (11-3) continues its 12-game homestand today as Alabama A&M (2-11) in a two game series. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. this evening.

The 11-3 start for the Tigers is their best start since 2008 when they went 12-2 to begin the season. Since opening the season 2-2, Mizzou has won nine of their last ten. They are hitting .314 as a team with 29 extra-base hits per contest. The Tigers have maintained a patient approach at the plate walking 55 times while limiting its opponents to just 15 free passes.

Brian Sharp has been a contributor on both sides of the ball. Sharp was named SEC Freshman of the Week, announced on Monday by the league office. This is the second consecutive week that a Mizzou player earned this honor. Right fielder Connor Brumfield was named SEC Freshman of the Week last Monday. Sharp hit .333 last week scoring three runs and knocking in two RBI’s in a five game span. On the mound, Sharp picked up his second career win and second career save.

While not having a typical Tanner Houck performance his last time out, Houck recently accepted an invitation to play with USA Baseball’s Collegiate National Team for the second consecutive summer. The Preseason All-American and Preseason All-SEC pick is the first Mizzou player to earn a spot on the team twice.

Alabama A&M is on a ten game road trip. Mizzou marks the halfway point of their road trip as the Bulldogs look to end their seven game losing skid. Alabama A&M faced SEC foe Auburn to begin their ten game swing. The Bulldogs were outscored by the Tigers 20-1 in the two game series. The Missouri Tigers look to follow in the footsteps of the Auburn Tigers in this midweek series.

Below is a series preview for the midweek series.

Tuesday, Mar. 8 6 p.m. [CT] Left-hander Brandon Marsonek (0-2, 4.40 ERA) vs. Right-hander Ryan Lee (1-1, 3.12 ERA)

Wednesday. Mar. 9 4 p.m. [CT] Left-hander Parker Hill (0-1, 3.12 ERA) vs. TBA

Tex Little and Trevor Coleman will have the call at 6 p.m. tonight on KTGR [1580 AM/103.1 FM]
