COLUMBIA, Mo. – Auburn homered four times and scored in each of the final six innings against University of Missouri baseball Saturday afternoon at Taylor Stadium, racking up 17 hits in a 12-2, eight-inning victory that leveled the three-game Southeastern Conference series at one game apiece.

Ike Irish drove in two of Auburn’s first three runs on the day, putting the Tigers on top to stay with a one-out single in the third inning, before homering for the second time in the series in the fifth. Irish, who drove in four runs in Friday’s series opener, logged his second three-hit performance in as many days against Mizzou, finishing 3-for-5 with three RBIs to lead Auburn’s offensive attack.

After Mizzou’s Ian Lohse (0-3) posted a pair of scoreless innings to start the contest, Auburn (24-25, 5-21 SEC) scored single runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to seize control of the game. Run-scoring singles by Irish sandwiched a Cade Belyeu homer in the fourth to help stake AU to a 3-0 cushion.

Mizzou (22-29, 8-18 SEC) struggled to find its rhythm at the plate against AU starter Chase Allsup (3-3), who held the Tigers to a single run on four hits, while fanning nine batters over 5.0 innings. MU plated a fifth-inning run on Jackson Lovich’s RBI single, after Justin Colon’s two-out hit and a hit batsman set up the scoring opportunity.

The visitors broke the game open with a four-run sixth, in which Irish drove in his third run of the day with a one-out base hit, following Chris Stanfield’s two-run single off Carter Rustad. Carter Wright, who also logged three hits for AU in the win, plated the fourth run of the inning with a ground ball to third, making it a 7-1 Auburn lead.

The Tigers struck for three more in the seventh, keyed by home runs from Cooper Weiss and Caden Green, who combined for six hits and five RBIs on the day. Green turned in a 4-for-5 afternoon, capping the scoring with a two-run single in the eighth inning, registering his third and fourth RBIs of the day in the process.

Carson Myers permitted one Mizzou run on a two-out wild pitch in the eighth, working the final 3.0 innings to earn his first save.

Brock Daniels produced the lone multi-hit effort by a Mizzou hitter, going 2-for-3 and reaching safely in three of his four trips to the plate.
