From Matt Puttin:

Missouri (21-21, 4-14 SEC) welcomes SEC East division foe Tennessee (24-18, 6-12 SEC) to Taylor Stadium for a three-game weekend series.

Alumni Weekend takes place as more than 20 former Mizzou baseball players are expected to be in town for the three game series. As the Tigers enter the weekend against Tennessee, Head Coach Tim Jamieson is approaching a career milestone. With 693 career wins (all at Mizzou), Jamieson is just seven wins away from reaching 700 career wins. If he reaches 700, Jamieson will be just 33 wins shy of tying historic Mizzou Baseball Head Coach Gene McArtor (1974-1994) for most wins of any Mizzou Baseball Head Coach. The Tigers have had just three coaches since 1937 as John Simmons who Mizzou’s field is named after, coached 35 years before McArtor took over in 1974.

Tennessee leads the all-time series with Missouri 5-4 despite Mizzou taking two of three last year in Knoxville. The Tigers put up 20 runs in the three game series last year while limiting the Volunteers to just nine runs. Missouri looks to continue that trend heading into the weekend. Below are the pitching matchups for the weekend.

Friday Apr. 29, 3 p.m. Reggie McClain (3-2, 3.89 ERA) vs. Aaron Soto (4-2, 4.02 ERA)
Saturday Apr. 30, 3 p.m. Tanner Houck (4-4, 3.20 ERA) vs. Zach Warren (5-4, 2.88 ERA)
Sunday May 1, 11:30 a.m. TBA vs. TBA

Today’s game will air on SEC Network+ with Ben Arnet and Ryan Allen on the call. Dave Neal and Chris Burke will have the call for Saturday’s game on ESPNU and Sunday’s finale on SEC Network. Tex Little and Trevor Coleman have the call on KTGR [103.1 FM/1580 AM] at 3 p.m.
