Cuonzo’s WORST season was 11 wins at MO STATE in his FIRST YEAR as a head coach. I’m 99.9% sure this team is better than that one.
Yes, this team is offensively challenged, but Cuonzo has been known for his defense. And they’re going to have to win ugly, so it is what it is. This team will go through some growing pains, but has some talented, young, pieces to work with.
And worth noting that this season’s start is very similar to last season (blowout loss at Utah/Iowa State, and barely beating Emporia State/Kennesaw State.)
FWIW, a ranked Kansas State only scored 56 points against this Kennesaw State team earlier.
I think this team will get better as the season goes along. Sure, the NCAA Tournament might be a long shot, but challenging for an NIT berth (considering the circumstances) would be an overall success.
