A couple of notes before I talk about players. Nikkos ankle injury was pretty bad. If he plays Saturday he wont be 100%. Not sure when he will be 100%. Its not a surgery problem, just a bad sprain
They keep saying Barnett is the best player on the team. Take it for what its worth. Yesterday was the second game where you could get free tickets and sit in the lower bowl. You should do this at home games. I doubt that you can do this with Arizona but probably the rest you can until conference starts
If you want to know why the MU offense goes into lulls just go watch a game and see the problems you have with some of your players. These players are trying hard and what I am about to write is how I would scout them and defend them. The are remarkably better defensively which we will ignore today to focus on the O's problems
CVL. Make him put the ball on the floor. If he beats you off the dribble he has no floater in the lane and he wont go to the rim. So dont worry if he beats you initially. You will have time to adjust
Puryear. The guy wont dribble with his right hand. He will do a hook shot with it but he wont use it to dribble. Make him go right
Woods. He wont shoot or dribble with his right hand. Force him right
Walton. Cant use his left hand off the dribble. Has no outside shot or pull up. If he dribbles hes going to the rim and he is going right. Sag off and dare him to shoot or go left.
Tp, Huges and Geist appear to be harder to defend. Play them straight up.
Dont know enough about Smith and Nikko
I can guess what will be said next. Its the coaches fault and its his players. Yes and yes. That said how do you fix it because these players have issues (I know fire the coach) that if I can see it so can the other guys. The hope I have is that the players over time prove me wrong. KA isnt stupid with Walton. when they run a play for him its always where he can go right. That said you cant do that forever. Same goes for Woods on the play they ran for him last night. It went left. See you Saturday
