I think most seem excited about the new roster make-over, but looking closer at the overall roster talent, specifically who we beat out to land the recruits, has me somewhat still concerned about the overall talent level on the team.
Using the Rivals database, it is glaring the lack of P5 and especially higher level P5 teams (tournament teams) offered to the players currently on our roster.
Here are players on our roster that appear to have had no other P5 offers:
Brazile
Brookshire
Wilmore
Davis
Gordon
Players with less than 5 offers:
Keita had 2-3 other offers (WV/Iowa)
Durugordo had 4 P5 offers, but none from tournament teams
Kaleb Brown had 3 P5 offers (VT only team in tournament)
Pickett's only other P5 offer was Illinois
Colemann only had WF at time of offer
Kobe Brown is the only player with a respectable offer list (18 P5 offers, including ones from Baylor, Ohio St, OU)
For comparison, I did a quick look at the Arkansas recruits the last two years. Their last 5 recruits:
Robinson (9 P5, 5 T (Tournament Teams)
Williams (7 P5, 3 T)
Moody (22 P5, 15 T)
Davis (6 P5, 4 T)
Moore (12 P5, 4 T)
I realize this alone does not translate to success on the court, but we are going to need a lot of players to perform better than many other coaches/recruiters thought for this team to be successful.
