KA killed Mizzou hoops. But, Cuonzo will sink this thing so far into the abyss I'm afraid we will never recover. No magical hire will save it. SEC hoops are uninspiring, College bball in general is trash, and fan interest couldn't be any lower in MO. I also think that because he is a good guy and runs a clean program he will get all six years. After all, as has been mentioned, football is all that really matters.
With that in mind there are 3 ways out. 1. Sign Josh Christopher and hope that he is indeed the second coming. Very unlikely. 2. Find and sign a miracle juco or grad transfer. O'liney style. Unlikely as well. 3. Hope that Jackson and Brown can quickly evolve into difference makers over the summer. Although nothing I've seen from other guys training and improvement tells me this is likely either.
I mention those two because they are FR. But, Jackson's athletic ceiling is higher than Brown's. What we see now from Brown is probably what he will always be other than improved handle, passing, shooting.
Mizzou Arena might start to feel like the Expos last few years in Montreal where you could identify all the fans in attendance by first name. Only our Tigers can't relocate, change their name, and start anew.
