I don't know what the protocols are for what happens, but I think teams backing out of bowl games should be charged with a forfeit loss and the conference does not receive their payout. Because none of these teams are backing out SOLELY due to COVID. Most of them are only put over the edge by COVID cases because they have guys hurt and deciding not to play, which is part of the game. I think there should be a penalty for all teams choosing to do this. Maybe there is. I honestly don't know.
