I’m curious to hear where you all slot the great single seasons of Mizzou’s best. Here are the top single season performances, in yards:
Tyler Badie - 1,604 yards — another 54 receptions for 330 yards. 18 total TDs
Devin West - 1,578 yards, 8 receptions for 43 yards. 18 total TDs
Brad Smith - 1,406 yards (that’s insane) and another 2,304 passing yards. 18 rushing TDs, 13 passing TDs. Oh, he threw 3 receptions in there with 53 yards and a TD.
Joe Moore - 1,312 yards (1969. Can’t find the detailed stats)
Brad Smith - 1,301 yards (not better than the other one, so not going to go in depth)
Larry Rountree III - 1,216 yards, not much production receiving. 11 TDs, all rushing.
Henry Josey - 1,168 yards, not much receiving production. 9 TDs, all rushing.
And here’s where Cody Schrader sits right now with 3 games to go (including the bowl) - 1,124 yards rushing, another 20 receptions for 191 yards, and 11 TDs, all rushing (I thought he had a receiving TD too, but apparently not).
For me, it’s probably Brad Smith, largely because he was a QB and was the focal point for defenses. Badie has to be #2, largely because he played on a really, really bad offense and was pretty much the only threat. But the fact he was a big threat receiving out of the backfield was huge. I don’t really differentiate much between Badie and West’s seasons. Though, West was a beast.
If Cody keeps up what he’s done, he’s going to be #2 for me. What about you all?
