Looking at a new mock draft posted today on CBS which has Drew going #1 overall to the Giants.
What would be some good teams for him to go to?
Giants - Pat Shurmur comes from the Andy Reid tree and in theory Drew could study under Manning for a year. This is a very large fanbase which would create pressure.
New Orleans - Payton has had very good offenses for years and Brees seems like the type of player who would actually try to teach Lock something. Problem is NO doesn't have a first round pick next year.
Not sure there's many other good matches for DL.
Oakland - would be interesting but it seems unlikely that Gruden would quit on Carr so quickly. Maybe though.
Chargers - Anthony Lynn is an offensive head coach but I feel like this is a toxic franchise and Rivers wouldn't take kindly to someone learning under him. Plus Rivers is an idiot.
Denver - They have churned through first round QB's over the years and Joseph is not an offensive head coach.
Tampa Bay - Might be a good fit with Koetter but it's hard to say how long they keep him around. Winston seems destined to be shipped off and Fitzpatrick seems like a temporary solution so maybe this would work.
New England - They are going to need a qb eventually but I'm not sure stepping into Brady's shadow would be remotely good for Lock.
