People have come up with a multitude of excuses for not getting the Tiger 10. The biggest issue with missing on the other 9 is that they went to Blue Blood programs.

We weren't missing out on kids that could be big busts at Iowa St. or other mid-tier schools. These kids were identified by some of the best staff's in the country, and we didn't close the deal. So, console yourselves how you will, but as great as the kids we have incoming could be, this class has to be viewed as a failure on our staff's part. There is no other way to look at it while maintaining personal integrity.

In no way is this saying that the kids we got are lesser than the local kids, but the perception is that Mizzou isn't a top option for in-state talent, and that doesn't change without getting in-state talent. This notion will continue to hinder our program until we change that perception.
