Just saw that tomorrow marks the 30 year anniversary of Billy Tubbs' great line during the Mizzou game in Norman. For you youngsters...we were ranked 3rd and they were ranked 5th. Norm got ill on the flight there and they landed in Tulsa so he could get help...we later learned he had cancer. Missouri had huge lead early (as I recall they got the arena less than an hour before tip off) and fans were throwing things on the floor about a traveling call. They asked Tubbs to control the crowd and he took the microphone and said, "The officials have asked me to say that now matter how bad the officiating is, please don't throw things on the floor". It was awesome. And of course OU immediately came back and it was the best game I've ever watched. Mizzou lost 112-105 in regulation, but it was in incredible game. I still maintain that if Norm hadn't gotten sick, he would have made the Final Four with that team.
