Bowl picture clarification (and those hoping for Memphis)

there have been a lot of questions about this so I made a call to find out. If there are only five teams available to the pool of six bowls, the Liberty will not have an SEC team. Period. Not a negotiation. That's the one that's out if there are only five teams for those bowls. The Liberty pays out about a million less than any other pool of six bowl.

To make sure, I said, "So there's no situation where you could say Memphis is so much better for us" and you and the league agree to go to the Liberty and the Texas or Belk gets left out.

"That cannot happen."

So there you have it. If UGA, Auburn and Bama are all in NY6 bowls, the Liberty Bowl isn't a possibility for Missouri or any other SEC team.
