1st off, just wanna say how cool I think it is that so many of u guys were willing to join in and participate in our contest... We wound up with 66 participants who put in $5 each to enter a bracket, and all totaled that makes our winner-take-all grand prize $330... Not a bad take home just for picking the NCAAT games right, IMO.
And speaking of that, most everybody had a pretty good first day... Nobody got all 16 of the Day 1 games right, but we did have one participant get 15 of 16... That was BoCoMo WhizKids... He/she, or possibly they, is our 1st day leader with 150 points... After that we had 7 competitors hit on 14 of the 16 games. That group includes:
Fhoneck... ljb... Larry Joe... BoatDan... chiefsnut... and then two members of the tk2aci family... They bought in for 6 brackets, one for mom, one for dad, and one for each of the four kids... And the ones labeled TR and Terry joined the 5 names above with pulling down 140 points on the first day... Those guys all had a pretty good 1st day.
Most everybody else in the contest is somewhere in the group of having got 13, 12 or 11 of the 16 games correct... The lowest we had for anyone was three people only got 9 of 16 correct... But no need to fret, they've still got time to make up the ground they lost on Day 1.
The killer tho, is we had two people who had their bracket absolutely blown up b/c they had Arizona winning it all, but instead their national champ pick got beat on the 1st day... I was watching that game last nite and I was really enjoying watching former MU backup PG Wes Clark torch U of A, but this morning I'm feeling kinda bad for our two guys whose brackets just fell to pieces when that game ended... Sorry guys, I bet losing ur champ on the 1st day really sucks.
Best of luck to everybody on Day 2... Got a lot of fun matchups on the schedule today, hope all ur picks go well... And oh yeah, we've got a game ourselves late tonite... Here's hoping that one goes really well for the black & gold!
