When I look at the depth chart, I see numerous reasons for optimism on the offensive side of the ball for 2017.
  1. The o-line has far exceeded my expectations and everyone returns. Seems like we might be building some depth there as well.
  2. I think Crockett and Strong are going to be a heck of a RB combo. Witter even looks much better to me. He can't break a tackle to save his life, but he runs hard.
  3. We have a bunch of young studs at WR. Wingo, Johnson, Mason have elite speed. Hall is a big physical receiver with good hands.
  4. Drew will be better next year. A full season under Heupel will do wonders. Nobody wants to cut him any slack for being in two largely different systems in two years and for not having a real QB coach his first year.
On the defense though, it's scary. We have one solid (Beckner) and three fringe (Frazier, Hilton, and Perkins) players. I hope we hit the jucos hard for defensive players, especially d-line.
