Thoughts? I completely understand why there is reflexive reaction. Even in the black community darker skin can have derogatory meaning.
OTOH, if my uniform and skin better hide the ball, that’s similar color, that’s factual, not racist. And Jackson may even consciously exploit it. I damn well would. It’s not mere nuance, it’s fact. Analogy - no one accuses Seals of adorning black face when on a night raid.
He could have simply said Jackson is really good at hiding the ball, and left it there.
