I like what I am seeing from this staff...because it appears we are offering a lot of different kids EARLY. More than we have in the past (maybe, maybe not?) and here is why that is important, imo. BO's staff appeared to target the upper third and would walk them down the aisle until they were turned away. Then he would turn his attention to the middle third and usually was turned away because they hadn't been in on a kid as long as other schools. Then he would hit the bottom third (and for those of you following along I'm referring to P5 targets) and take what was left. Kind of what Eli has to do with the 2020 class.
However, as we see 2021 targets being courted, this staff appears (and Gabe you can enlighten me if I'm wrong) to be targeting the upper two-thirds in the first go-round. Hopefully, that will give us a slightly better chance of landing better athletes (tier 2 as opposed to tier 3). Time will tell.
Editors note: Not saying all of BO's recruits were tier 3 kids AT ALL, we just seem to be in scramble mode, for the last 5-6 kids, more often than we should have been late in the recruiting season.
PS: I used thirds as a way to convey my point, but maybe it's 4th or 5ths.
