Opinion | The IRS Is About to Go Beast Mode
The Schumer-Manchin bill has $45.6 billion to audit the middle class.

It's essentially impossible to reach a human being at the IRS despite its immense size. All of their field offices are still closed to the general public. Over 21,000,000 tax returns are backlogged for processing. Worse customer service doesn't exist in any industry anywhere.
There's hundreds of billions of dollars in the upcoming Dem spending bill for the IRS. Virtually NONE of it is earmarked for taxpayer services. Most of it is for adding auditors to attack the middle class, upper middle class, and small businesses which file under the individual tax code.
This is happening at a time when tax revenues are way up and the federal govt isn't struggling with its funding. If you thought a first bump in Congress two days before passing a Vets bill was bad, wait until stories hit the news about IRS agents bullying middle income America into liability settlements they can't afford to fight in court.
Can't wait.
