How does MU Athletic Department catch up with the other SEC schools? Needing a winning football team is obvious but not the whole solution. Looking forward to the good ideas as well as all the smart azz ideas.
1. TSF can go to new businesses, non-giving alumni and find a way to reach statewide through possibly the extension offices. Go for small $20 donations for TSF memberships and online recognition to those that want it. This would get donor numbers up and people involved. Keep working this strategy each year while asking for modest increases to existing. Some big fish will be caught by chance and getting overall numbers up will help.
2. Gotta make it less expensive for younger fans. Demand style ticket pricing for tickets to the upper deck and empty spots next to the students and bands. If it takes $5-$20 pricing to fill it up do it. Cheaper food prices on kids candy and soda. Kids will have a better time if they can load up on sugar more than once a game.
3. Get any high school football player that wants into a game in. If the recruiting rules don't allow a free pass then sell them to high school coaches for a buck a ticket.
