How difficult would it be to go to a 5-2-4 or a 5-3-3 alighnment for the Kentucky game while Wilson is at Qb?
We have an abundance of Dts. In the days of Devine and Onofrio 5 and 6 man lines were the norm facing running teams. It would make sense to me but I have no idea how difficult it would be for a team used to a 4 man front to install. Having a strong safety or linebacker spy Wilson I think would be wise. Stop Snell or Wilson on first down and Ky is in a heap of hurt.
VAndy I read was throwing a couple offensive linemen out there to try to stop Snell on last drive so I assume they were using a 5 or 6 man front ..though with shaky personnel. We have some DTs. that could overload their front. Add two good linebackers and a hybrid free safety tasked with accounting for Wilson I think would make running difficult for snell and Wilson.
That front would likely put more pressure on Wilson on pass attempts. I know or defense is not great at playing man. Wilson is more likeLy to throw inaccurately than connect beyond 15 yards. Their receivers likely are not the greatest because they have few passes thrown. So my guess would be any big plays would be offset by ints.
It might be more difficult to execute than my typing.
