Wanted to start a separate thread, didn't want to upset the Montell Jordan discussion that's currently ongoing in the other because this is how I do it...
So, been messaging with Johnson throughout the day. To summarize, no commitment yet. He will be visiting USC (Southern Cal) next weekend. Those are is his top two schools, so expect an announcement after his visit with the Trojans. He said going into the Missouri visit, aside from Brandon Jones, he didn't know what to expect from the coaching staff but really liked all of them and called them "some good dudes."
Asked him about Coach Jones, he responded, "he's going to keep it real with me. None of that sugarcoat stuff. I've been with him for four years, so just being with him that long we have really built our bond."
Said Coach Drinkwitz was "laid back and knows what he's doing. I really like him."
When it comes to position, Johnson said Missouri wants him to come in and play center. He said that's something he knows he can do and dominate at, so he's interested in the challenge. He said he can play any interior position and slide out to tackle if he needs too.
He said USC is recruiting him as a left guard, but it doesn't sound like position is a big concern. He's pretty confident in his abilities.
