Had a friend of mine call me up last night and asked what I had planned for today. Not knowing what he was getting at, I just stated the usual working till 3:30pm and gonna catch the game on DVR when I get home.
He proceeded to tell me that he had box seats and had a ticket with my name on it.
Now, growing up a Mizzou fan in St Louis, I was given crap by my family for the bulk of my life, those closest wondering why I wasn't a SLU fan. Each time, I would counter with I was a fan of how tough and hard nosed the Norm teams from the early to late 80s played. The epitomized how I thought the game should be played and I drew a liking to them.
In enduring the Haith era, DVR'ing thru the Kim Anderson era, I can't be more excited with the hire of CM and where this program is headed.
As a father of three, getting to any game in Columbia is a chore as family life trumps my passions typically. I haven't been to a game in 2 years because of this, but in going today, it really feels like Christmas came early for this guy. I am giddy with excitement to what will happen today. Can't wait to stash today away in the ole' memory bank of moments this fan will truly cherish.
