Not sure how you can be anything but happy with tonight and the first two weeks. Missouri has done what it needed to do. There hasn't been a moment in the second half where you had any thought the Tigers might lose. They've handled their business against teams they should handle their business against. It gets a little tougher next week...although maybe not a lot.
DeMarkus Acy is a guy who stands out as having raised his level of play. So does Nate Anderson. I think Khalil Oliver is really helping the defense. Offensively, it took a minute to get into second gear, but once they did, this offense showed again it can be really tough to stop. Drew Lock is playing by far the best football of his career.
No complaints from me about tonight. They're 2-0 with two easy wins. Next week is the biggest game of the season. We've known that for a few months. If they win that one, then the next week becomes the biggest game of the season.
I won't yet say that Missouri is the second best team in the SEC East. They haven't faced a test like South Carolina or even Florida or Kentucky has. But I think the Tigers have a chance to be the second best team in the East. And that's been the bar for a really good season to me all along.
Photos, video, post-game reaction and my story are on the front page. Mitch has a full notebook coming. Grade card and ten thoughts on college football in the morning and hopefully snap counts and grades from PFF should hit some time tomorrow afternoon. We'll be working to get in touch with EJ Liddell and Mario McKinney as well. Enjoy the rest of your night.
